With wealth surpassing most Pennsylvania counties, Delaware County is considered an appealing place to live.

A recent report by Niche highlighted Delaware County as one of the top 100 counties in the nation and a prime location in Pennsylvania.

Niche‘s rankings were determined by several key metrics, such as quality of public schools, cost of living, job opportunities, and local amenities.

Scoring an A+ overall, Delaware County ranked as Pennsylvania’s fourth best county to live and placed 95th nationwide.

The county received high grades for its public schools, nightlife, and family-friendliness. It also scored an A- for diversity, a B for job opportunities, and a B- for housing.

What boosted Delaware County’s rank were its top-tier schools, numerous outdoor spots, healthy inhabitants, and ample job opportunities for young professionals. Its diversity and suitability for family living also surpassed most Pennsylvania counties.

With a median home value of $244,400, slightly above the national average of $217,500, and an average median household income of $74,477, which is also above the national average of $62,843, the cost of living in Delaware County is relatively reasonable.
