Unveiling of the New Outdoor Fitness Area in Sedgwick County Park

Sedgwick County, Kansas, is all set to inaugurate a new outdoor fitness area. This modern exercise space is designed especially for adults who are 60 years and older. The much-anticipated public event will take place at Sedgwick County Park on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 9 a.m. Notable Sedgwick County commissioners and leaders will be in attendance to share remarks and interact with the media.

Features of the G.A.I.N. 60+ Exercise Park

The newly developed fitness area, labeled the Get Active In Nature (G.A.I.N.) 60+ Exercise Park, comes equipped with 11 resistance-based and strength-based exercise stations. Notably, five of these stations are wheelchair accessible, ensuring inclusivity.

Partnerships Enabling Active Aging

This admirable initiative is a result of a partnership between Sedgwick County, the Central Plains Area Agency on Aging (CPAAA) and the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS). The primary aim is to encourage regular physical activity and foster social interaction among individuals of all ages, genders, and abilities.
