Paycom Workers Break Record in Burpees Fitness Challenge for Veterans’ Mental Health

Paycom’s Mark Divine Courage Foundation Funding for Veterans

In honor of Veterans Day, the Mark Divine Courage Foundation received a substantial donation of $137,814 from leading human capital management software provider, Paycom, and its dedicated employees. This was achieved through a national fitness challenge known as Burpees for Vets. This campaign aids veterans with the resources and opportunities necessary for a smooth transition post service.

Paycom Sets Record in Burpees for Vets Participation

Participating for the third year, Paycom has made history as the largest-ever donor to Burpees for Vets and the Courage Foundation. This surpasses its 2023 donation of $133,963 designated for veterans battling Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

About The Courage Foundation

Retired NAVY Seal, Mark Divine established The Courage Foundation to combat the rising challenges that veterans and active service members face while managing or preventing PTSD. The foundation offers transformative training that promotes the development of self-awareness, situational awareness, emotional resilience, physical health, and fitness, thereby fostering a renewed sense of passion, principles, and life purpose.

How Paycom’s Contribution to the Courage Foundation is Calculated

From November 4 to November 7, each burpee completed by a Paycom employee added to the total donation to the Courage Foundation. Across the nation, Paycom employees managed to complete a total of 112,814 burpees during this year’s challenge.

Paycom’s Commitment to Veterans

“Being a veteran myself, I understand the significance and need for these resources for service members and their families,” stated Buck Adams, vice president of operations at Paycom and executive sponsor of Paycom’s veterans employee resource group (ERG).

The Impact of the Donation

The funds raised will support the Courage Foundation’s holistic Veteran Integration Program. This immersive, year-long initiative offers specialized training and support to mitigate PTSD, promote post-traumatic growth, and establish a pathway to civic leadership for participating veterans.

“Our immersive integration program equips veterans to overcome mental health issues, and positions them to excel as productive citizens. We owe the continuation of this vital resource to brave men and women risking their lives for our freedom to generous partners like Paycom,” said Sid Ellington, strategic advisor to the Courage Foundation board of directors.

Since 2022, Paycom and its employees have raised $316,286 for veterans through the Burpees for Vets campaign. With an employee-led veterans ERG, premier health benefits, including $0 copay for in-network therapy and counseling, in-office well-being advisors, and more, Paycom continues to enhance the well-being of its team members and communities.
