Erie has been named as the best fishing spot in Pennsylvania by FishingBooker. Notably, three other towns in the vicinity also secured a place in the website’s top 10 list for the state.

Study Methodology

The study conducted by FishingBooker compiled data from over 100,000 fishing trips, reviews, and reports from the past year. Six specific criteria were used to rank each location, with each criteria worth a maximum of 10 points. Thus, the maximum possible score for a location was 60 points.

Details of the Criteria Used

The criteria for the study included the number of available fishing charters, average review score, average recommended score, the number of guides with the Angler’s Choice Award, the number of bookings, and the minimum price of a fishing trip. A minimum of one booking through the site was required for a destination to be considered.

Erie’s High Score

Erie scored an impressive 50 points out of 60, tying with New Orleans. Only 22 cities across the US managed to score higher than Erie.
