Ultimate Guide to Exciting Sports and Leisure Activities

Starting Your Fitness Journey in Westchester County

Your fitness journey begins with the recognition that obesity is a paramount public health threat in America. With its direct link to critical health issues such as heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, and diabetes, maintaining a healthy weight is vital. To combat obesity, Westchester County has initiated the Rec-Mobile to promote an active lifestyle and healthy eating habits among its residents.

Rec-Mobile: Your Mobile Health and Fitness Hub

The Rec-Mobile is an innovative health and fitness facility on wheels that travels across Westchester County. It comes equipped with a plethora of games and equipment like hula hoops, jump ropes, soccer balls, Frisbees, an agility ladder, and sacks for fun, competitive races. Moreover, you can avail essential information on maintaining a healthy diet. The van is staffed with two adult fitness supervisors who guide the games and activities. It’s perfect for outdoor facilities, requiring a basic minimal area of 50 feet x 50 feet.

If your organization is keen to have the Rec-Mobile over, download and fill out the reservation request form or get in touch with Brianna Webb at (914) 231-2146. The Rec-Mobile is available for a two-hour visit at $100, from June through August, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Many of these activities are free of charge. You can also avail of the six all-weather tennis courts and a new pickleball court at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers, as well as the County Tennis Club located on Brook Lane on the Bronx River Reservation.
