In Western New York, a change in wind direction late day will shift heavy lake snow northwards. This could cause up to 20 inches of snow in some areas by Wednesday. See the latest weather alerts here.
In Rochester, wind chill early Monday will drop to single digits or below zero. Snow showers will begin to taper off on Monday afternoon. Accumulation of 3-6 inches of snow is expected, with higher amounts along the Lake Ontario shoreline. Cold temperature is expected to persist till Wednesday.
In Central New York, Monday will be colder with highs in teens and sub-zero wind chills. Lake-effect snow showers are expected south and southeast of Lake Ontario, with heavier snowfall expected Monday night, especially around the Tug Hill Plateau. Oswego County may see snow totals of 2-to-3 feet. Besides snow, wind chill may drop to 10 to 20 degrees below zero on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
