Democrats Question DOJ over Epstein Files Implicating Trump in White House Cover-up

TL/DR –

The Justice Department has released thousands of new files related to Jeffrey Epstein, leading to questions from Democrats about what else could be hidden. The latest release includes frequent mentions of former President Donald Trump, detailing his trips on Epstein’s private jet and the issuing of a subpoena to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club. Despite these revelations, no direct implications of wrongdoing have been made against Trump, who has consistently denied any illegal or improper conduct.

Thousands of New Epstein Files Unveiled by Justice Department, Trump’s Involvement Questioned by Democrats

Following the release of thousands of Epstein files by the Justice Department, Democrats are questioning what else the DOJ might be concealing, suggesting a potential White House cover-up. Former President Bill Clinton had his moment under scrutiny when the Epstein files were first released. Recently, it was President Donald Trump’s turn.

The sitting president’s name surfaced repeatedly in the latest release of thousands of Epstein documents on Dec. 23.

It included details of Trump’s repeated flights on Jeffrey Epstein’s “Lolita Express”, a subpoena sent to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, and other mentions of Trump, some unverified.

Trump is among the many famous people named in the new Epstein files, but has not been accused of any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. However, difficulties in finding specific items in this large volume of materials due to the lack of a good search function and broad range redactions caused frustrations.

Trump’s association with Epstein and the new revelations have led Democrats and victim advocates to accuse the department of trying to protect the president from embarrassing disclosures. They have also expressed apprehensions about the delayed full release of the documents, despite a deadline imposed by Congress.

Epstein’s Co-Conspirators and Trump’s More Frequent Flights on Epstein’s Jet

An email has now surfaced expressing plans to serve subpoenas to “10 co-conspirators” including Epstein’s longtime business partner Les Wexner, and French model scout Jean-Luc Brunel, linked with Epstein.

An email dated Jan. 7, 2020, discloses that newly obtained flight records revealed Trump to have flown on Epstein’s private jet eight times from 1993 to 1996. On at least four of those flights, Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of conspiring with Epstein, was also aboard.

Subpoena Sent to Mar-a-Lago and Possible Witness Intimidation in Epstein’s Case

On Oct. 5, 2021, the then U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss sent a subpoena to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club for testimony and evidence in the case against Epstein’s associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.

One of the documents from the 2019 federal case against Epstein describes potential witness intimidation during a Florida investigation in 2006. It notes multiple calls to a victim who accused Epstein of abuse, and also to a corporation in New York affiliated with Epstein.

Tips on Hotline Alleged Trump-Epstein Ties and Possible Wrongdoing

One call to the FBI hotline in 2020 focused on alleged sex trafficking incidents on Lake Michigan in 1984, with Trump listed as a witness. Another call in October 2020 referred to upsetting a limousine driver who drove Trump to the Dallas-Fort Worth airport. It suggested that Trump made concerning comments during a phone call and repeatedly mentioned the name “Jeffrey” and referenced “abusing some girl”.
