Inflation Reduction Act Includes 15 Drugs to Aid Medicare Part D

TL/DR –

U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen announced the addition of 15 medications for Medicare drug pricing negotiations, as part of the Inflation Reduction Act that she helped pass. The Act grants Medicare authority to directly negotiate prescription drug prices with pharmaceutical companies, with 10 drugs already negotiated and the reduced prices set to take effect in 2026. In addition to reducing drug costs, the Inflation Reduction Act has also helped lower healthcare premiums and cap insulin costs for those on Medicare Part D at $35 per month per prescription.

U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen Supports Added Medications for Medicare Price Negotiations

U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen announced 15 more medications added to Medicare drug pricing negotiations, a move to reduce costs for Medicare Part D beneficiaries. This is part of the Inflation Reduction Act, which Rosen helped pass, allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical firms directly.

These additional drugs join 10 others already negotiated under this provision, with lowered prices taking effect from 2026. “I’ve been fighting to lower the rising costs affecting Nevadans, including prescription drug prices. I’m proud that 15 more medications will qualify for Medicare price negotiations due to this legislation I helped pass,” said Rosen.

Rosen has been instrumental in efforts to decrease prescription drug prices. The Inflation Reduction Act, which she backed, has also contributed to reduced healthcare premiums and capped insulin costs for Medicare Part D beneficiaries to $35 per month per prescription.

She supported a federal law last year, introducing bipartisan legislation to lower seniors’ out-of-pocket prescription drug costs. Moreover, Rosen announced Nevada seniors would have their annual out-of-pocket costs for brand-name prescription drugs capped at $3,300 due to legislation she assisted in passing.
