The grant will be used to plant over 166,000 native trees in central Arkansas across six counties in the coming three and a half years.

Details of the Project

The project, referred to as The Central Arkansas Tree Planting Project, was initiated thanks to a grant funding program launched by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This program was created under the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. Metroplan, a metropolitan planning organization federally designated for central Arkansas, was chosen as the recipient of the funding allocation.
