Christine Returns as Chief Nurse for Quality & Safety at Saginaw VA in 2023

Christine has been working with the Department of Veterans Affairs since 2003, starting as an RN in the ICU at the Saginaw Healthcare System and eventually moving into quality management. She held positions as Enterprise Risk Manager at the Minneapolis VAHCS, Quality Management-Infection Prevention Nurse Manager at the South Texas VAHCS, and Chief Nurse Quality, Safety, & Value at the Central Texas VAHCS before returning to the Saginaw VA Healthcare System as the Chief Nurse for Quality, Safety, & Value service in January 2023. Christine has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saginaw Valley State University and a master’s in business administration in Healthcare from American Sentinel University and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality; her mission is to provide high-quality care and services to Veterans and Military personnel.


Christine: A Dedicated Leader in Veterans’ Healthcare

Christine rejoined the Saginaw VA Healthcare System in January 2023 as Chief Nurse for Quality, Safety, and Value Service. Since 2003, she has been a dedicated servicemember of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Her extensive career began at the Saginaw Healthcare System, starting as an RN in the ICU, progressing to Urgent Care, and ultimately moving to the Quality Management Department.

Her journey led her to the Minneapolis VAHCS, where she served as the Enterprise Risk Manager from 2014 till 2020. In January 2020, Christine moved to the South Texas VAHCS in San Antonio, TX, where she held the critical role of Quality Management – Infection Prevention Nurse Manager. Then in November 2021, she was transferred to the Central Texas VAHCS and served as the Chief Nurse Quality, Safety, and Value until January 2023.

Christine’s wealth of experience in Quality and Patient Safety is complemented by her strong leadership skills. Her professional mission encompasses providing Veterans and Military personnel the highest quality of care and services they deservedly earned. Collaborating with teams to achieve this mission is a key objective for her.

Christine’s academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saginaw Valley State University and a master’s in business administration in Healthcare from American Sentinel University. She is also recognized as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.
