Empowering Addiction Recovery: Top Non-Profit Aid

TL/DR –

A 65-year-old homeless woman in Mesa, Arizona, known as “Mama-Jo,” is addicted to fentanyl and is a double amputee. The founder of Fentanyl Project AZ, Brock Bevell, is trying to help her and is using social media platform TikTok to raise awareness about her situation and solicit assistance. Bevell has tried to get local authorities and Arizona senators involved, but Mama-Jo is resistant to going to the hospital and multiple warrants for her arrest make it difficult for her to be taken in.

Arizona Non-profit Founder Aids Street-living Fentanyl Addict Through TikTok

For several years, a 65-year-old Mesa woman known as “Mama-Jo” has battled severe fentanyl addiction while living on the streets. Brock Bevell, founder of Fentanyl Project AZ, is striving to help her and motivates others to assist as well using TikTok.

Helping the Helpless

In a recent viral video, Bevell describes Mama-Jo as a double amputee due to drug abuse, who has been banned from most places. The clip, attracting nearly a million views, portrays Mama-Jo in a sorry state in a Mesa Walgreens parking lot.

Unanswered Calls for Aid

Despite Bevell’s pleas to the Mesa police, fire department, and even Arizona Senators, Mama-Jo remains unaided due to arrest warrants and her unwillingness to be hospitalised. Bevell questions the inability to secure care for her, despite the state receiving substantial opiate grants.

From Success to Streets

Interacting with Mama-Jo in another video, Bevell reveals her past as a successful vet before fentanyl ensnared her. “Lost my home, lost my wife and now I’m alone… when I smoke the blue, I’m not alone no more,” Mama-Jo confessed.

Hope for Recovery

Unfazed by her present plight, Bevell meets Mama-Jo on the streets, offering assistance and urging others to help her transition into recovery. “I would love for someone to see this and reach out to us and say, hey, this is what we can do next,” Bevell expressed.
