Originally from Israel, Moshe Lencer, often known as Moosh, has made a name for himself in Michigan’s Jewish community since moving to the United States in 2015. Moosh’s academic credentials include a degree in government, minors in international affairs and business administration from the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, and master’s degrees in Jewish education from Hebrew University and Israel Experiential Education from George Washington University.
His life took an enjoyable twist in 2019 when he met Sarah, a Michigan local. She introduced him to the state’s rich culture, highlighted by unique experiences like Buddy’s Pizza, Motown music, exploring cider mills, and being part of a strong Jewish community. The couple made Ann Arbor their home in 2020.
Since then, Moosh has been a pillar in Michigan’s Jewish life, volunteering for organizations like the Michigan Region ADL Educational Board, BBYO, and AEPi Ann Arbor advising. He also supports national initiatives like Artists 4 Israel, B’nai B’rith International, and KAHAL: Your Jewish Home Abroad.
His professional journey with AEPi lasted over five years, starting as the International Ambassador and culminating as the director of Jewish enrichment and education. Currently, he is at The iCenter, focusing on Israel education and community partnerships. Moosh also shares his expertise through consulting for organizations including BBYO, WZO’s Office of the Vice Chairman of the Executive, JFNA, and MyZuzah. His consulting services for the University of Michigan Hillel and Shorashim have been successfully completed.
In 2023, Moosh participated in The Big House 5K, Canton Liberty 10k Run, and the Detroit Free Press International Half-Marathon. He looks forward to exploring more of Michigan’s beauty in future races in 2024.
