Explosion Causes Fatal Fire at Hillsboro Auto Repair Shop

Hillsboro Auto Repair Shop Explosion Causes Massive Fire

On Tuesday afternoon, a massive fire broke out after an explosion at an auto repair shop in Hillsboro, Ohio. First responders and emergency crews rushed to the scene at Jimbo’s Auto Repair, located at 502 S. High Street.

Fire District Chief David Manning of the Paint Creek Joint EMS & Fire District confirmed the explosion. As of now, the cause of the explosion is still to be determined. Tragically, the fire has claimed three lives while another individual was transported to the hospital in a stable condition.

Eight fire departments collaborated in an effort to contain the fire. Despite the massive blaze, there were no reports of damage to nearby structures according to Manning. Witnesses reported that the explosion was felt several blocks away.

Investigation into the cause of the fire is underway by the Fire Marshal. Video footage of the explosion is available for viewing on WLWT.
