Five More Companies Investigated for Alleged Medicaid Fraud in Minnesota

TL/DR –

Authorities are investigating five companies in connection to a Medicaid program theft case, including 24hrs Homecare LLC managed by Anwar Ahmed Adow, who was indicted last month for wire fraud. Adow’s company, Liberty Plus, allegedly received over $1.2 million for services provided to around 200 beneficiaries, which he is said to have used to lease a 2023 Mercedes-Benz CLA and make investments. The other businesses undergoing investigation are ARMHS Reach in Fridley, Bayside Care LLC, Hearth Home Services, and Safe Haven Autism Center in St. Paul.

Investigation into Additional Companies for Alleged Medicaid Fraud

Five companies, one located in St. Cloud, are under scrutiny from authorities, expanding the recent investigation into allegations of Medicaid program fraud. This follows the indictment of individuals found guilty of similar offenses.

Anwar Ahmed Adow, a managing employee at 24hrs Homecare LLC, with offices in St. Cloud and Blaine, was notified by the Minnesota Department of Human Services on October 9th that his license to provide Home and Community-Based Services was immediately suspended. This action was prompted by charges of fraud or theft against a program administered by a state or federal agency.

When KNSI News visited the office address cited in the letter they found a vacant office with a ‘for rent’ sign on the door. Further attempts to contact were unanswered.

Adow was implicated last month as being one of eight individuals charged with wire fraud related to the Housing Stabilization Services program. His company, Liberty Plus, reportedly received over $1.2 million for services involving around 200 beneficiaries, which were allegedly used to lease a 2023 Mercedes-Benz CLA and for investments.

The other businesses currently under investigation include ARMHS Reach in Fridley, Bayside Care LLC, Hearth Home Services, and Safe Haven Autism Center in St. Paul.
