Help Emanuel Lutheran Skandia Raise Funds for Indoor Ramp

TL/DR –

The Emanuel Lutheran Church of Skandia, Michigan, is raising money for a new indoor ramp to increase accessibility between the sanctuary and community spaces. The congregation hosted a sales event featuring donated plants, pies, and household items and is also auctioning off a quilt in November. Though the church has already raised a few thousand dollars, additional funds are needed to complete the project.

Emanuel Lutheran Church Fundraiser for New Ramp

The Emanuel Lutheran Church of Skandia congregation is fundrasing for a new ramp. They hosted a “Plants, Pies and Summer Buys” sale, where plants, pies, and household items were donated and sold.

An auction is also on the cards, with tickets available now for a November event featuring a quilt made by a church member.

Christie Johnson, a member of the congregation, shared that the church plans to build an indoor ramp for better accessibility in their 120-year-old building. “This building we’re in now was added on. That’s why we need the ramp. There are steps going down right now, and we want to make it accessible to everybody,” she explained.

Although a few thousand dollars have been raised, more funds are required for the ramp’s installation. To contribute, reach out to Emanuel Lutheran Church at 906-942-7245 or emanual@tds.net.
