TL/DR –
Indiana has launched the Hoosier Veteran Hotline, a new resource for military veterans needing help with patient advocacy needs. While the hotline does not manage appointments, benefits, or crises directly, it connects veterans with resources and answers to their healthcare-related inquiries. The phone service is available for the state’s veterans from Monday to Friday.
Indiana Hoosier Veteran Hotline: An Essential Resource for Veteran Advocacy Needs
Indiana’s new Hoosier Veteran Hotline is now available to aid military veterans with patient advocacy needs. This call line aims to provide clarity and resources, serving as a gamechanger for veterans experiencing difficulties navigating healthcare systems.
“The healthcare system can be daunting for veterans; this established hotline can assist them in obtaining the answers they’re searching for,” states Jesse Bien of Veteran Health Indiana.
Known as the One Indiana Call Line, this resource aids veterans who need assistance with healthcare and appointment-related queries. “This line isn’t for scheduling appointments, but if veterans face issues with appointments, our team will assist them,” clarifies Bien.
This call line is accessible to Hoosier veterans enrolled in any of the four Veteran Integrated Services Networks (VISN) and connects them with the resources they may require.
According to Dawn Grimes, Deputy Director of Veteran Health Indiana, the hotline will simplify the process for veterans who feel overwhelmed by the system. “This is an escalation line for veterans who’ve tried to get answers or need more help,” says Grimes.
While the call line does not directly manage appointments, benefits, or crises, it serves as a crucial resource for veterans to get their questions answered.
The new veteran call line operates from Monday to Friday. The One Indiana Call Line number is 1-844-IND-VETS (1-844-463-8387).
