Kari Lake Ignores Ruben Gallego in Supporter Thanks

TL/DR –

Republican Kari Lake has seemingly acknowledged her loss in the U.S. Senate race through a video message, although she did not specifically mention the race’s outcome or congratulate U.S. Senator-elect Ruben Gallego. Lake, who was trailing Gallego by nearly 73,000 votes, thanked her supporters and expressed her continued commitment to the state. The former Fox 10 newscaster also criticized the media in her video, stating that she walked away from her career because she was “sickened spreading the government’s COVID narrative.”

Republican Kari Lake’s U.S. Senate Loss Acknowledged in Social Media Video

Republican Kari Lake addressed her U.S. Senate loss on social media Wednesday night, thanking her supporters but not mentioning the race outcome or U.S. Sen.-elect Ruben Gallego’s victory. Her 2:30-minute video message champions the upcoming Trump administration and appreciates her campaign’s backers.

“As for me, I can say for certain that truth will never cease to matter to me,” Lake said. “These memories that we’ve made together will linger. They will become sweeter over time, and I will never cease fighting for the state I love.”

Gallego’s campaign confirmed Lake had not conceded the race as of Wednesday night. Despite trailing Gallego by nearly 73,000 votes, with about 120,000 still to be counted, Lake’s message signaled a resolution that was absent after her 2022 gubernatorial loss to Gov. Katie Hobbs.

Lake, a former Fox 10 newscaster, commenced her video by recalling her television career in Phoenix before critiquing the media. “I walked away from a luxurious contract in the fake news because I couldn’t deceive you,” she stated. “What good is wealth if it compromises your integrity? I was repulsed by propagating the government’s COVID narrative.”

Lake credited the Bible for giving her the courage to quit her career, and public demand led her to venture into politics. She acknowledged the challenges and rewards of the “journey that we’ve taken together,” adding, “They threw everything at us: fake news, hundreds of millions of dollars, and vicious attacks. Throughout it all, you never faltered, and I am profoundly grateful for that.”

As of mid-October, Lake’s campaign was $2.4 million in debt. She spent two years in court battling to overturn her 2022 loss and still has a pending court matter. The Maricopa County recorder, Stephen Richer, a Republican, sued her for defamation over baseless claims of a mishandled election. The court will determine any damages she owes in the case.
