TL/DR –
Kari Lake, a Senate candidate, has called on all Arizona Cardinals fans to wear their “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hats to the remaining games of the season. This comes after a security guard refused to allow a season ticket holder to wear her MAGA hat into the State Farm Stadium, which the team said was a misunderstanding of the policy on prohibited items. Lake’s call to action appears to be an attempt to transform football into a political platform.
Trump Supporter Kari Lake Encourages Arizona Cardinals Fans to Wear MAGA Hats
Kari Lake, a known Trump supporter, is urging all Arizona Cardinals fans to wear their MAGA hats to the remaining games this season.
Lake asserts that if you love America, you should own a MAGA hat, or perhaps even a pair of $399 MAGA high tops, or Trump digital trading cards.
Wear MAGA Gear to Show Love for America?
“Every @AZCardinals fan who loves America should wear their MAGA hat to every AZ Cardinals game this season,” Lake announced in a social media post.
Her appeal comes after a security guard denied a season ticket holder entry to State Farm Stadium for wearing a black MAGA hat.
The Cardinals responded, explaining that the guard had misunderstood the policy on prohibited items, which does not include hats. The team told 12 News they would clarify the policy with stadium personnel and apologized to the individual involved.
Is Lake Turning Cardinals into a Political Rally?
Despite the team’s response, Lake seems eager to turn the incident into a political spectacle, possibly to score points and catch up to her opponent, U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego, in the U.S. Senate race.
She may also believe that turning football into another MAGA battlefield could “make football great again.” But, will stadium chants of “Trump, Trump, Trump” really solve America’s problems?
