Scottsdale Murder-For-Hire Case: Second Suspect Sentenced To Life
In a recent development in the Scottsdale murder-for-hire case, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced that Jose Antonio Beltran has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Following a guilty verdict on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and burglary, Beltran will serve a natural life sentence and two additional 20-year terms consecutively.
The charges are related to a cold-blooded murder that occurred in December 2020 at a residence on 90th Street and Sweetwater Avenue in Scottsdale. According to the authorities, a 53-year-old woman was shot and killed. Beltran, along with Adrian Espinoza, his co-defendant in the case, reportedly also sought to murder two other individuals present at the scene.
The motive behind the contract killing remains undisclosed. During the court proceedings, one of the survivors implored Beltran to reveal the instigator of the crime, hoping that it would help repair the damage done to the victims.
In a similar court trial in 2023, Espinoza was also convicted for his role in the deadly act and sentenced to life imprisonment.
