New Coalition Launched to Provide Sustainable Healthcare to Rural America
Healthcare technology and services leader, Lumeris, announced today the formation of the Collaborative for Healthy Rural America (CHRA)™, a coalition including Teladoc Health, Nuna, Deloitte, and Unite Us. The coalition aims to accelerate state efforts within the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHT) administered by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Artificial Intelligence-Enabled Care Solution
CHRA’s objective is to deliver an AI-enabled operating platform that connects patients and clinicians to improve healthcare delivery in rural communities. The coalition aims to leverage national economies of scale to provide enhanced access to sustainable care for rural Americans.
A New Paradigm for Healthcare
“The Rural Health Transformation Program opens up a new paradigm for healthcare access and delivery for millions of rural Americans,” stated John Doerr, chairman of Kleiner Perkins. This collaborative will aid states in accelerating their healthcare visions with AI-driven platforms and advanced technologies.
The Urgent Need for Improved Rural Healthcare
Millions of Americans living in rural communities rely on Medicaid and Medicare programs for healthcare. A reported shortage of over 87,000 primary care physicians within the next decade, especially in rural areas, highlights the urgency of this situation. CHRA aims to address these challenges through shared infrastructure, unified data, and modern technology, with a central focus on Primary Care as a Service (PCaaS) to stabilize rural healthcare.
Delivering Benefits of Scale
CHRA will adapt to the needs of each state while delivering benefits of scale, thereby improving quality and lowering costs. The goal is to leverage the Rural Health Transformation investment as seed capital for a strategic, private-sector–funded solution to rural healthcare, said Mike Long, CEO, Lumeris.
