On Thanksgiving, a male suspect was shot and killed by a resident after allegedly forcing his way into a Philadelphia apartment. The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. Thursday at an apartment complex on the 6100 block of City Avenue named The Premier at City Line.

The suspect, a man in his 20s, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two firearms were found at the scene, according to police reports.

Residents returning from Thanksgiving plans found the front door of the building unusually propped open. They also received an email from property managers about an unfortunate incident that authorities were investigating.
