Unexpected and sudden, the prominent pickleball facility, Picklemall, is terminating its operations at the Arizona Mills Mall. The lease cancellation by Arizona Mills has led to this unforeseen closure, according to the head of Picklemall operations, Ben Worley.
Worley expressed disappointment, stating, “This was not our preferred course of action. Our members’ and guests’ unwavering support has been immeasurable, making the circumstances leading to this closure even more regrettable.”
With a deadline of July 31st to evacuate all equipment from the Tempe location, Picklemall has paused all memberships and initiated refunds.
Picklemall plans to relocate to Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa
However, Picklemall isn’t abandoning the Valley. The pickleball giant plans to transfer its events and programs to the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, a leading youth sports and entertainment facility in North America. Located at Ellsworth and Pecos roads, east of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.
Future plans for Picklemall in the new location
Worley revealed plans to initially establish 41 outdoor pickleball courts followed by expansion. “Our objective is to cover and cool these courts, and convert part of the space into indoor pickleball courts,” he stated. Anticipating the expanded space to offer more food, beverage, and entertainment opportunities.
