New Rankings Highlight Best Cities for Jobs in 2021
Recently, WalletHub ranked 182 of the country’s largest cities to identify the best cities for jobs in 2021. The study took into account factors such as job opportunities, employment outlook, and average starting salary.
In the national ranking, Raleigh comes in an impressive 31st place – putting it in the top 17% across the U.S. Among cities in North Carolina, Raleigh reigns as the number one spot for employment prospects.
The WalletHub study also considered housing affordability and median annual income as factors that could impact a city’s ranking. Two other North Carolina cities, Durham and Fayetteville, rank at 79 and 165 respectively.
The study reveals that the best city for jobs in the new year is Scottsdale, a suburb of Phoenix, followed by Tampa, Florida, and Salt Lake City, Utah. On the other end of the spectrum, Newark, New Jersey ranks as the least favorable city for jobs according to the study.
