A stolen hospital van led police on a chase through the San Fernando Valley on Tuesday evening. The van, belonging to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, was reported missing during a shift change, according to the LAPD.

The chase saw several LAPD patrol vehicles tailing the stolen van as it erratically drove in the wrong direction on the 170 off-ramp and through residential areas on Victory Boulevard. The pursuit began at approximately 7:21 p.m after the incident was reported.

A hospital spokesperson revealed that two employees were briefly taken as the van was commandeered but were quickly released. The van is typically used to ferry staff to offsite parking lots.

The chase concluded in Panorama City, as the driver ultimately halted and fled into a Home Depot gardening section. He was promptly apprehended and arrested by authorities.
