Arizona Songwriters Gathering Celebrates 27th Year in Glendale

The Arizona Songwriters Gathering, an annual event now in its 27th year, is set to bring a day filled with music to Glendale. This free event, organized by the Arizona Songwriters Association welcomes enthusiasts, performers and writers of all ages to collaborate and perform. The event will feature over 100 live music performances across three stages.

The gathering will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, at the Glendale Main Library, located at 5959 W. Brown St. Attendees are invited to join open song-sharing circles by bringing their voices and instruments.

Participants can look forward to workshops and lectures by industry experts such as Robin Frederick, Tracey and Vance Mareno, Pat Pattison and Shelly Peiken. Topics will range from song critiques, sync and metadata, the Music Licensing Collective, TV and film placement, prosody, digital audio workstation recording, and building a successful independent music career. A songwriting challenge hosted by local songwriter Sandy Hathaway will also be a highlight.

Food trucks will be on site, adding to the festive atmosphere. The event is supported by the Arizona Commission on the Arts, funded by the state of Arizona and the National Endowment for the Arts. The commission is collaborating with the Glendale Main Library and the Arizona Songwriters Association, with sound support and sponsorship from Barnett Productions.
