Masters of the Universe: Alison Brie’s Fitness Journey
When preparing for her role as Evil-Lyn in the latest He-Man movie,
Masters of the Universe,
Alison Brie didn’t start her fitness journey from scratch. A regular at her gym,
Rise Movement,
for nearly 15 years, Alison has been serious about strength-training since her role as wrestler Ruth Wilder in the Netflix series GLOW.
Alison Brie’s Workout Approach
Training for Masters of the Universe compared to training for GLOW required a different workout approach. She explains the main difference in the latest episode of the video series

“Transitioning from GLOW required a real transformation process, but since I have maintained my training so consistently, gearing up for Masters of the Universe was much easier,” explains Alison.
Alison Brie’s Weekly Training Routine
Alison’s weekly training routine usually consists of three days at Rise Movement, two days of
Pilates
or Peloton, a day of hiking, and a day of rest. She is certainly not afraid to put in the hard work, as proven by her ability to perform weighted
pull-ups.
Strength Lies Within
“Most of what I do in the gym surprises people, because I’m a petite woman. I’m tiny but mighty. People don’t know how much strength lies inside this body,” says Alison. She wants everyone to know what a strong, petite woman can achieve with consistent training and effort.
Typical Workout Session with Alison Brie
Alison and her Rise Movement trainer,

walk us through a typical workout session. It includes a
hip-thrust
warm-up with 50 lbs. of weight, contrast training with a Zercher squat,
pull-ups
with an extra 45 lbs, and
push-ups
with added resistance.
