The Jaye Band: A Revolutionary Minimalist Smartwatch
- Jaye Band, a fresh and simplistic smartwatch device
- Designed to display your most critical phone notifications
- Free from unnecessary onboard apps or sensors
Our smartphones, which are perpetually with us, can become extremely distracting if left unchecked. The Jaye Band, a new wearable, aims to mitigate this by acting as a straightforward filter for your phone’s activities.
Kickstarter Campaign and Jaye Band Features
The device is presently fundraising on Kickstarter (via Android Authority), packaging itself as “the minimalist smartwatch crafted to counter the modern attention crisis”. It pledges to “help you regain control of your mind” and provide you with “a wearable designed to minimize your distractions, not increase them”.
Benefits of Jaye Band
The concept is that the band serves as a subtle platform for your most crucial notifications, while everything else stays on your phone. You can establish ‘do not disturb’ time blocks, and there’s no tracking or health monitoring.
In essence, your phone stays in your pocket for a much larger portion of the day, reducing the need to constantly check for new alerts, toggle between apps, and scroll through endless social media feeds in search of a new diversions.
Pricing and Shipping
The Jaye Band features a small, monochrome OLED display, designed to be worn on the inside of your wrist. This incredibly lightweight device measures just 38mm x 14.5mm x 7mm (1.5 inches x 0.6 inches x 0.3 inches).
The developers claim that the wearable has already undergone three rounds of design and refinement, and now requires funding for mass production. It has already exceeded its $5,000 goal, raising $35,749 at the time of writing.
Early birds can secure their band for $129 (about £97 / AU$184, although shipping to Australia does not appear to be available yet). When the device officially launches, it will retail for $249 (about £188 / AU$355).
Shipping is planned for December 2026, but as always with Kickstarter, there might be delays and production issues along the way. If you’re seeking a more minimalist tech experience on a day-to-day basis, the Jaye Band could be the solution you need.
