Goleta Honors Fitness with Rachel with Business Recognition Award

In a recent development, the City of Goleta has proudly announced that Fitness with Rachel, a woman-owned fitness business, has been selected for the prestigious City’s Business Recognition Program. This program honors local businesses for their significant achievements and distinct contributions to the community, playing a key role in strengthening Goleta’s economy and enriching the local community.

Woman-Owned Fitness Business Wins Recognition

Selected for its commitment to improving the lives of Goleta’s senior citizens and general residents, Fitness with Rachel received the award at the City Council meeting on February 3, 2026. City Mayor Paula Perotte presented the award certificate to Rachel McDonald, the owner of the business. Mayor Perotte lauded Fitness with Rachel saying, “This business captures the Goleta spirit – innovative, caring, and committed to community health. We are proud to honor Rachel’s work and the positive impact that she has on our residents.”

Comprehensive Fitness Programs for All Ages

Owned and operated by Rachel McDonald, Fitness with Rachel provides a variety of fitness programs including senior fitness programs and cancer exercise programs, uniquely designed to address fatigue, pain, and other cancer-related issues. Rachel holds several noteworthy certifications like:

  • Primary Group Exercise Certification (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America)
  • Personal Trainer, Senior Fitness, and Fitness Nutrition Certifications (American Council on Exercise)
  • Advanced Cancer Exercise Specialist Certification (Cancer Exercise Training Institute)

Rachel’s passion for her clients’ health is evident.
