Three Men Arrested in Westmoreland County Homicide Over Business Debt

Three men, Jeremy Fisher, 41, William Fortuna, 58, and Braden Elliot, 20, were arrested in connection with the disappearance and death of George Dayieb, 57, from Westmoreland County, announced by Allegheny County police. The criminal complaints indicate that the homicide was over a business debt of nearly $440,000.

Dayieb was reported missing and endangered to Murrysville police on Wednesday afternoon. His deserted pickup truck was found later that day by Kennedy Township police. It was revealed that Dayieb had met Fisher on that morning to settle a large debt, exceeding $439,000, resulting from a joint excavation business based in Robinson Township.

According to the criminal complaints, Fisher conspired with Fortuna and Elliot to murder Dayieb. Allegedly, Fisher promised Elliot, his nephew, a diesel truck in return for his assistance in the murder. Security video showed Dayieb entering Fisher’s vehicle near a Citgo gas station in Coraopolis Wednesday morning, while Elliot sat in the back seat and Fortuna followed in another vehicle.

While on Interstate 376, Elliot attempted to shoot Dayieb but the gun misfired. After a brief stop at a gas station on Route 422 in Portersville, Fortuna fixed the gun and they resumed their journey. Shortly thereafter, Fisher texted “now” to Elliot, who then shot Dayieb in the head.

Dayieb’s body was driven to a known camp in Licking Township, Clarion County, and hidden in an abandoned trailer by Elliot, per Fisher’s instructions. Dayieb’s body, with a gunshot wound to the head, was discovered in the trailer by state police on Friday, following a search warrant issued to Allegheny County police.

Fortuna was taken into custody on Saturday in Conway, Beaver County, while Elliot was arrested on Saturday night in Butler County. Fisher’s arrest took place in Midway, Washington County on Sunday morning. The preliminary hearing for Elliot is scheduled for Jan. 12, with the dates for Fisher and Fortuna yet to be announced.
