Trump Administration Invests $11 Million to Boost Rural EMS and Mobile Healthcare in New Hampshire

Over $11 million in Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) funding has been announced by the Trump Administration to boost emergency medical services and expand Mobile Integrated Health in rural New Hampshire. This federal investment will support mobile health programs, developing connections between EMS agencies and rural hospitals, and enhancing direct care to patients across the state.

This transformative funding aims to support rural municipalities, EMS agencies, and health systems grappling with increased call volumes, workforce deficits, and financial strain. It will fund the creation and expansion of mobile healthcare programs across rural New Hampshire, introducing innovative methods of care delivery outside traditional healthcare settings, and making care more accessible.

The Rural Health Transformation Program strives to provide quality healthcare access irrespective of a patient’s location, and equip first responders with essential resources in critical situations. The funding will fuel vital investments to fortify rural healthcare, broaden access to lifesaving services, and introduce modern technology to communities throughout New Hampshire.

“President Trump recognizes that every American deserves high-quality healthcare, regardless of where they live.” said Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. He emphasized that the funding will strengthen the health workforce, modernize infrastructure, expand access, and bring care closer to home, tailoring solutions around the people they serve.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz added, “This is what rural health transformation should look like: federal investment that prioritizes patients, drives lasting improvements and expands healthcare for hardworking Americans in these communities.”

The funding was made possible by the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which resulted in a historic $50 billion investment to help states transform the way healthcare is delivered in America. The act was passed by Republicans in Congress and unanimously opposed by Democrats.

“I’m proud to announce more than $11 million in grants through GO-NORTH to strengthen emergency medical services and expand access to Mobile Integrated Health programs across our state.” said Gov. Kelly Ayotte. The funding will ensure a reliable and sustainable rural EMS system, while exploring new ways to reach patients through Mobile Integrated Health.

This announcement is part of the larger overall funding amount awarded to New Hampshire for fiscal year 2026. The overall RHTP funding will focus on:

  • Building the rural healthcare workforce
  • Strengthening rural facilities and access
  • Advancing innovative care and payment models
  • Expanding community-based and preventive care
  • Modernizing rural healthcare technology

The Trump Administration is committed to strengthening rural America by investing in solutions that modernize technology to promote health and well-being for rural communities. The RHTP, led by CMS, is moving beyond the one-size-fits-all approach, giving rural communities the tools to build stronger, more innovative, and sustainable health systems.
