Donald Trump’s Speech at Michigan Auto Worker’s Strike: False Supporters Exposed

During a speech by Donald Trump at the Michigan auto workers strike, two attendees claiming to support Trump were revealed as non-union and non-auto workers. Trump’s intent was to leverage the United Auto Workers strike.

The Detroit News reported that one person carrying a ‘union members for Trump’ sign admitted they weren’t a union member, while another, holding an ‘auto workers for Trump’ sign, confessed they were not an auto worker.

The event, hosted by a non-union automotive parts supplier in Clinton Township, attracted between 400 and 500 people. Trump skipped a Republican debate in California to visit Macomb county, a key political area with a high percentage of UAW workers, often seen as a barometer for elections. Politico highlighted its unique role in the political landscape.

One attendee who was an actual auto worker, Doug King, 55, informed the Detroit News, “The four years under Trump were the best years that we had in the auto industry.”

Trump addressed the UAW negotiations with Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis, suggesting they were not as significant as perceived. He also voiced his opposition to the shift towards electric vehicles, stating, “You can be loyal to American labour or you can be loyal to the environmental lunatics. But you can’t really be loyal to both. It’s one or the other.”

Joe Biden’s spokesperson, Kevin Munoz, labelled Trump’s speech as “incoherent”, “pathetic” and “recycled”.

Trump visited Michigan a day after Biden, who joined a UAW picket line and expressed support for striking workers in neighboring Wayne county. Biden was invited by the union president, Shawn Fain, who declined to meet with Trump. Fain criticized Trump’s lack of concern for workers, stating, “He serves the billionaire class and that’s what’s wrong with this country.”
