Fox 10 Phoenix announces new anchor

Fox 10 Phoenix news has announced Christina Carilla as the replacement for former news anchor Kari Lake. Carilla will co-anchor the 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. newscasts with John Hook, a veteran anchor.

Carilla, who moved to Phoenix three years ago, has been co-anchoring the 10 p.m. newscast on Fox 10 since 2019. She also anchored the 7 p.m. newscast on Fox 10 Xtra beginning in 2018.

Carilla’s commitment to journalism

“Christina understands the importance of strong journalism and has shown dedication to reporting Arizona’s most crucial stories,” said Fox 10’s vice president and news director, Doug Bannard. John Hook tweeted his congratulations to Carilla, expressing his excitement about their future collaboration.

Former anchor Kari Lake also tweeted her congratulations to Carilla. Lake left the station in March following several controversies and expressed discontent with the direction of recent news coverage.

Before joining Fox, Carilla worked as a morning anchor at WZVN in Fort Myers, Florida, and KNWA in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She’s a graduate of Temple University and a classically trained soprano.
