DTE Energy crews and two mascots visited the Ronald McDonald House to spread holiday cheer to young patients and their families. The event, which included a brightly lit bucket truck and gas truck, included activities such as passing out hot chocolate, playing music, sharing a meal, and waving glow sticks. The event was done in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities Ann Arbor (RMHCAA), an organization that provides housing and supportive services to families of patients at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, and housed 512 families for free and provided 8,583 meals throughout 2022.


DTE Energy Visits Ronald McDonald House with Festive Cheer

At Ronald McDonald House, DTE Energy crews spread holiday cheer to young patients and families on Monday night. The evening was lit up with a bucket truck and gas truck, both festively decorated, near C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.

The DTE Energy team shared music, hot chocolate, and a meal with those present, while guests enjoyed wave glow sticks and making s’mores.

“Volunteering our time to decorate the trucks in lights and visiting partners like Ronald McDonald House Charities in Ann Arbor is a privilege for our team at DTE Energy,” shared Bryan Valrance, DTE Gas Service Center Manager. “This initiative allows us to connect with the community, bring joy to children and families and create a positive impact on those we serve.”

The event included special guests, Grimace, McDonald’s purple monster, and DTE’s Louie the Lightning Bug who shared in spreading the holiday cheer.

The partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Ann Arbor, an organization providing housing and support to families of patients at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, made this event possible. The non-profit organization manages two houses in Ann Arbor with a total of 43 rooms and housed 512 families for free in 2022, providing 8,583 meals.
