Help Rename the Grand Rapids’ Turf Painting Robot

Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation is looking for your help to rename their turf painting robot, currently known as ‘Turfy McTankface.’

This GPS-guided, turf tank robot paints athletic fields in Grand Rapids parks and has been a major help to the maintenance team since 2021. But after three years, it’s time for Turfy to adopt a new moniker for his next chapter.

Submit a new name for the robot on the Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation website. Creative and funny suggestions are welcome, but note only family-friendly names will be considered. Entries will be accepted until March 15.

The top ten names will be selected by the Parks team and a public vote will take place from March 18 to 22. Make sure to visit the website to cast your vote for your favorite name.
