ASHEVILLE, N.C. Residents Restless After Shooting at Artisan at Biltmore Park

Tension continues at the Artisan at Biltmore Park post a shooting incident on July 7. A woman remains critically injured in hospital after being shot in the head while Gregory Holden was found dead in his apartment from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Resident Dustin Wingate recounted the gruesome aftermath as he returned home after police had secured the property. “There was still blood everywhere, his dentures were laid out, the gauze used for cleaning was scattered. There were blood prints leading to the bathroom…They merely pressure-washed it into the grass,” said Wingate.

Asheville Police Department confirmed that the apartment complex is in charge of the crime scene cleanup.

Wingate observed a cleanup crew on the afternoon of July 8 but expressed dissatisfaction at the lack of communication from management. “I don’t feel safe living in a place where there’s no communication,” he stated.

The suspect in the South Asheville apartment shooting was identified and found dead.

In response to the incident, a regional manager for Brookside Properties issued a statement:
