Nopetro Energy to Launch 15th Compressed Natural Gas Station in Florida
Miami-based company, Nopetro Energy, has declared its intent to construct a new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuelling station in Kissimmee, Florida. This venture is a continuation of Nopetro’s ten-year collaboration with LYNX, the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority.

The new station, scheduled to commence operations by the end of August 2026, will be situated at 100 N. Alaska Ave. It will comprise two fuelling lanes and two dispensers, with the capacity to run on 100% renewable natural gas (RNG).
Jorge Herrera, Nopetro’s CEO, expressed his belief that this facility would reinforce LYNX’s capacity to manage an environmentally friendly, low-emission fleet while curbing costs and ensuring reliable service.
Nopetro’s Presence in Florida
The Kissimmee station will be the 15th CNG facility that Nopetro operates in Florida. The company’s decade-long partnership with LYNX has included infrastructure design and construction, maintenance facility build-outs, fleet conversion initiatives, and a revenue-sharing model.
CNG is a viable option for public transit operators due to its lower and more consistent pricing compared to diesel, lower emissions, and reliable performance for high-mileage fleets.
Investments in Renewable Natural Gas Infrastructure
In addition to operating CNG stations, Nopetro also invests in developing RNG infrastructure throughout Florida. This includes a recent $50 million investment in a Manatee County facility that is expected to generate enough energy to power approximately 4,500 homes each year.
Since its launch in the third quarter of 2025, the company’s Vero Beach RNG facility has been producing fuel for buses and trucks.
