Hunter Biden’s Meme Coin $LAPTOP Collapses, Leaving Investors in Loss
Hunter Biden’s Cryptocurrency Drama Unfolds
Former first son, Hunter Biden, took to the internet to vent about his meme coin, $LAPTOP’s abrupt downfall. Surprisingly, four out of five investors suffered losses while one mysterious trader managed to rake in nearly $1 million.
The $LAPTOP Meme Coin Controversy
Biden named the cryptocurrency $LAPTOP, referencing the infamous laptop incident that sparked political controversy involving him and his father, ex-President Joe Biden. With thousands of emails revealing Hunter Biden’s international business dealings and substance abuse problem, the laptop story attracted widespread attention, leading to scrutiny by Republican lawmakers. Biden now uses the emblem once used to attack him as a symbol of “resilience, redemption, and recovery.”
The Aftermath of a Failed Cryptocurrency Launch
Biden blamed the collapse on a mishap that occurred at the onset of the coin’s launch. Apparently, the project’s market maker didn’t provide enough liquidity to cater to the initial demand. As a result, Biden’s coin soared from $2.39 to a stunning $316 before crashing down. Click here to read more about Hunter Biden’s cryptocurrency launch.
He lashed out about the situation saying, “There was a f**k up. The f**k up occurred in the first 30 seconds of launching the coin, in which the market maker, for some unknown reason, only put in $5,000 of liquidity. And the demand was through the roof”.
In the Red: Hunter Biden’s Cryptocurrency Investors
Despite one trader turning a roughly $250,000 bet into $1.18 million in just a few minutes, the majority of the investors weren’t as lucky. According to blockchain analytics firm Bubblemaps, about 80% of traders who invested in $LAPTOP on the launch day ended up losing money, with over 15,000 wallets in the red. This was a direct result of the coin’s insufficient liquidity and the immense initial demand.
The Road to Recovery: Biden’s Plans for $LAPTOP
Despite the grim situation, Biden plans to stay with the project and rectify the damages caused. The project is now working towards increasing liquidity and trading volume. If you’re interested in learning more about meme coins like the now infamous $LAPTOP, click here.
