However, she criticized Overton’s failure to clarify that individual vaccinations for measles, mumps, and rubella are currently unavailable in the US. Such misinformation, Steier notes, could lead to missed doses and increased risks during disease outbreaks.
Health experts hope that the new FDA commissioner will counter Trump and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s efforts to limit vaccine access. Marnik expressed the need for a leader who prioritizes evidence and the public’s interest over the current administration’s questionable health policies.
