The best hospitals in Pennsylvania have been recognized in the latest 2024 America’s Best Hospitals Awards by Healthgrades, the renowned doctor and hospital search engine. Close to two dozen Pennsylvania-based hospitals are among the leading 250 nationwide.
Methodology Behind the Best Pennsylvania Hospital Rankings
Healthgrades meticulously examined over 4,500 hospitals, evaluating their performance across over 30 common procedures and conditions. Data-driven and clinically validated methodology focusing strictly on patient outcomes was used to determine the top 250 hospitals in the United States.

Dr. Brad Bowman, Healthgrades’ Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science, stressed the importance of hospital quality when choosing a healthcare provider in the release of the rankings.
Consumers Prioritize High Ranking Hospitals
Based on a recent survey by Healthgrades, 76 percent of consumers would only opt for hospitals with high-quality rankings related to their specific condition or procedure. Furthermore, nearly two-thirds (63 percent) are more likely to choose a hospital that has received a quality award if choosing between two potential healthcare providers for scheduling a procedure.
