A recent study by Stacker and Niche has ranked Temple University as the second-best public college in Pennsylvania.

Stacker collated data from Niche to establish a list of the top 10 public colleges in Pennsylvania, where Temple University secured the second spot.

Criteria for Ranking

The ranking was primarily based on the academic quality of the institutions. Factors such as quality of professors, college acceptance and graduation rates, and research investment were considered. Additionally, the value of the university was also taken into account, including the average cost after financial aid, average student loan amounts, graduate earnings, and feasibility to repay student debts. Other factors included campus diversity, student life quality, campus housing and food options, and surrounding community aspects like crime rates and rent prices.

Temple University’s Ranking Status

Temple University boasts an acceptance rate of 72%; a net cost of $23,224; and an SAT range of 1010-1230. Nationally, Temple ranks 86th and is second only to Penn State University in Pennsylvania, which is ranked 37th nationally.

Penn State University’s Multiple Appearances

Penn State made several appearances on this list, with its campuses at Penn State Fayette, Penn State York, Penn State Scranton, Penn State Mont Alto, Penn State Erie, Penn State Hazelton, and Penn State Berks all placing in the top 10.
