MADISON, Wis. – University of Colorado Cross Country Performance at Nuttycombe Invitational

At the Nuttycombe Invitational cross country meet, the University of Colorado cross country program showcased impressive form despite the wet conditions. The men’s team secured a seventh-place finish with 312 points, and the women’s team earned a 14th place spot with 395 points in their championship races.

Championship Races Kickoff Despite Weather Conditions

Due to the challenging weather conditions, the championship races were given priority and were advanced ahead of the B races. The women’s 6K race started the day, with 33 teams ready to compete under the rain.

Top Performers from the University of Colorado

Among the Buffs, Ella Baran, Karrie Baloga, and Emily Covert were noteworthy as they managed to break into the top-100, each achieving a top-50 finish. Baran, in her season debut, placed 33rd with a time of 20:35.9. Baloga and Covert followed close behind, finishing within five seconds of Baran’s time.

Men’s 8K Race sees Colorado Buffaloes in Top Positions

Following the women’s race, the men’s 8K championship race took place, where the Buffaloes outperformed many in the field of 36 teams. Colorado’s top five athletes all finished within the top-100, including Isaiah Givens and Austin Vancil who both made it into the top-50.

Upcoming Events in University of Colorado’s Cross Country Calendar

Looking ahead, the Colorado Cross Country team will compete in the Pac-12 Championships in University Place, Wash. The races will commence at 11:00 a.m. MT on Friday, October 27th.
