TL/DR –

Search warrants have been executed on New York Police Commissioner Edward Caban and Tim Pearson, a top aide to Mayor Eric Adams, according to sources. This comes as the FBI is said to have raided the homes of First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and the city’s deputy mayor for public safety, Philip Banks. It is also reported that these investigations into Mayor Adam’s administration officials are separate from another investigation into the mayor’s 2021 campaign, which pertains to donations from individuals with ties to Turkey.

Search Warrants Executed on NYC Top Officials

NY1 sources report that search warrants were issued for Police Commissioner Edward Caban and top aide to Mayor Eric Adams, Tim Pearson. This revelation follows earlier news of FBI raids on the residences of First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety, Philip Banks.

Investigators seized electronic devices from Caban, Pearson, and other NYPD executives. No indication has been given that Mayor Adams or his staff are at the center of any investigation, as per City Hall Chief Counsel Lisa Zornberg.

The NYPD conveys its awareness and full cooperation with an ongoing investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York involving NYPD personnel, as stated by deputy commissioner for public information, Tarik Sheppard.

Banks, a major player in NYPD affairs, and Wright, who resides with partner – Schools Chancellor David Banks, also experienced FBI raids on their homes. Mayor Adams insists on full compliance with inquiries related to the investigation.

NY1 sources emphasize that these probes into Adams administration officials stand apart from the investigation into the mayor’s 2021 campaign, linked to donations from Turkish affiliates. The latter led to FBI raids on Mayor Adam’s top fundraiser’s home and Adams having his electronic devices confiscated last November.
