Harris gradually increases media engagements
By Alex Seitz-Wald, Peter Nicholas and Natasha Korecki
After her perceived successful debate performance, VP Kamala Harris’ team is slowly ramping up media engagement. Despite pleas for greater accessibility, they don’t plan a major strategic shift.
According to the campaign, Harris plans more media interviews in battleground states and increased interaction with her travel press corps. Also, she’ll field questions from the National Association of Black Journalists.
Harris, so far, has one national TV interview and two national radio interviews to her credit. Critics argue that her limited media engagement signals an inability to handle unscripted questions.
Polls and focus groups indicate undecided voters need more information about Harris, providing some comfort to Trump supporters.
Trump’s post-debate actions suggest doubt about his performance
By Jonathan Allen
Donald Trump’s post-debate actions suggest uncertainty about his performance. Since leaving the debate stage, Trump and his allies have cast aspersions on ABC’s debate moderators and criticized national media.
Republican strategist Matthew Bartlett said, “Trump’s post-debate behavior is a continuance of his baffling debate performance — unfocused, undisciplined and at times unhinged.”
Harris has a task ahead in convincing voters who feel they don’t know enough about her. Trump, however, has declared, “THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!”
