Starting her speech by quoting Carl Jung, Nicole Shanahan, the running mate of independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., discussed the American psyche’s “ruthless” nature, her friendship with the “Black Panther” director, and the need for Americans to remember their ancestors.

Despite stating her intent to spend little on the campaign trail, Shanahan made her first campaign speech in Houston, a month and a half after joining Kennedy’s independent presidential ticket. She portrayed the electorate as the victim of a far-reaching pandemic-related conspiracy, not fitting neatly into specific political categories.

Shanahan emphasized her perspective on Covid, stating it functioned like a truth serum, revealing hidden societal issues. She affirmed a collective and powerful unwillingness to tolerate control and manipulation.

Delivering her remarks from a printout, Shanahan discussed restorative justice and her support for a progressive district attorney in California. She warned against communism’s infiltration in American education and criticized President Biden’s support for Ukraine against Russia.

In response to a National Guardsman’s question about restoring faith between the military and the government, Shanahan criticized Biden’s foreign policy, warning it was threatening U.S. troops with the risk of World War III.

Shanahan also expressed support for stringent border restrictions enacted by House Republicans and endorsed an ultraconservative congressman who recently moved to oust the House speaker. She used conservative language to denounce the “uniparty in Congress.”

Shanahan lauded Kennedy’s campaign as fulfilling his family’s legacy, despite some family members’ disapproval.

Shanahan, 38, a political newcomer, joined Kennedy’s campaign after contributing millions in campaign donations. Previously absent from the campaign trail, she recently began a campaign podcast and announced plans to attend two campaign events in rapid succession.

Shanahan’s Houston speech attracted Republicans who have grown disillusioned with former President Trump. Among them was Denise Chranowski, who praised Shanahan’s intelligence and fresh perspective.
