Trump’s Accuser in E. Jean Carroll Case Says His Remarks Show Him ‘Unraveling’
TL/DR –
Jessica Leeds, a woman who testified in the E. Jean Carroll case that former President Trump groped her in 1979, said that Trump’s public argument against her claims shows he’s “unravelling”. Last year, Leeds testified that Trump began kissing and groping her on a flight after they began a conversation. Trump has vehemently denied these allegations, with his lawyers recently arguing in an appeals court that Leeds’ testimony should not have been permitted in the Carroll case.
E. Jean Carroll Case Testifier Claims Trump is “Unraveling”
The woman who testified against Trump in the E. Jean Carroll case, stating that Trump groped her in a 1979 airplane incident, has claimed Trump’s recent comments on her show signs he’s “unraveling.”
Jessica Leeds stated that “Trump is certainly showing signs of unraveling, there’s just too much piling up against him,” following a press event where Trump targeted her and other women who accused him of sexual misconduct. Leeds’ testimony last year included Trump initiating inappropriate actions after seating next to her on a flight.
Trump’s legal team argued in an appeals court today that Leeds’ testimony in the Carroll case should be discountenanced. Trump, while addressing reporters at Trump Tower, brought up her account unsolicited and denied it, arguing that he was already famous because of his 1987 book “The Art of the Deal.”
“The story is fabricated,” he said. “She claimed I was kissing her. She changed her story several times. She stated I grabbed her suddenly. And that was when she had enough. Consider the impracticality of this. Could it have happened? It didn’t. And, frankly, she would not have been the chosen one,” stated Trump.
