Biden’s Fund Pays Extreme-Left Activist Groups
TL/DR –
President Biden’s “Inflation Reduction Act,” which allocated billions of dollars to climate spending, has allegedly been used to fund left-wing activist causes. The Biden Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded $50 million to the “Climate Justice Alliance” (CJA), a group primarily interested in “regenerative economic solutions and ecological justice,” with notable activities including anti-Israel protests and attempts to stop the construction of a new police facility in Atlanta. Also, allegations have been raised against Biden’s EPA on charges of violating the Inflation Reduction Act, which states that the EPA should control the distribution of taxpayer dollars, instead of outsourcing this responsibility to non-profit organizations, often with political affiliations, which are receiving billions with little Congressional or executive branch oversight.
Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act: Misuse of Funds for Left-Wing Causes?
Almost two years ago, President Joe Biden signed the controversial “Inflation Reduction Act” (IRA), a law allocating billions for “climate” spending. As predicted by conservatives, the funds have since been directed to various nonprofits and activist groups, furthering left-wing agendas.
The “Climate Justice Alliance” (CJA) exemplifies Biden’s questionable use of the IRA funds. As reported by City Journal, the Biden’s EPA granted CJA $50 million to distribute as they see fit.
However, CJA’s mission revolves around “regenerative economic solutions and ecological justice—challenging capitalism and both white supremacy and hetero-patriarchy.” Among its activities, it has supported anti-Israel protests and efforts to stop construction of a new police and firefighter training facility in Atlanta.
In April, the Biden EPA awarded nearly $14 billion in IRA funds to three organizations, which are tasked with establishing financing institutions for clean technology projects nationwide. This move seemingly contravenes the IRA’s stipulation that the EPA should directly manage the fund distribution.
This concern was raised in a letter to Biden EPA Administrator Michael Reagan by Rep. Max Miller (R-OH), chairman of the Subcommittee on the Environment for the House Committee on Space, Science, and Technology.
Many recipient nonprofits have leaders with close ties to Democratic circles. For instance, Anthony Foxx, former Secretary of Transportation for Barack Obama, sits on the board of the Climate United Fund.
The EPA continues with its plan despite Miller’s warning, leading to billions in taxpayer dollars being distributed with limited oversight. This tactic allows the government to hide the extent to which taxpayer dollars fund left-wing social agendas.
One funded group, Inclusiv, received $1.87 billion in IRA funding to help “low- and moderate-income people and communities achieve financial independence through credit unions.” Its 2023 conference featured a drag queen and individuals mockingly impersonating Catholic nuns.
Professor Carlos Rodrigo Íñiguez, a former advisor to the Spanish government, and retired economist Professor Joachim Buchholz, expressed concerns over the lack of oversight and favoritism towards groups aligned with the Democrat Party.
Regardless of the upcoming November election results, the funds already distributed cannot be retracted, leaving Americans to bear the cost of the left’s “green revolution” and perceived War on traditional American values.
