Monday, Jan. 29, 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. EDT: One NOAA Leadership Priorities.

This town hall features NOAA leaders discussing key priorities including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, building a Climate Ready Nation, balancing economic growth with environmental stewardship, and workforce equity. Speakers include NOAA Administrator Dr. Rick Spinrad and leaders from NOAA’s six Line Offices.

Tuesday, Jan. 30, 8:30 – 10 a.m. EDT: From HWRF to UFS: HAFS Journey from development to operation.

NOAA scientists and partners detail the evolution of NOAA’s new Hurricane Analysis and Forecast System, which has improved storm intensity predictions. Sundararaman Gopalakrishnan, lead scientist for HAFS, will be among the speakers. A follow-up session is scheduled from 1:45 – 3:00 p.m. EDT.

Tuesday, Jan. 30, 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. EDT: NOAA Climate Services.

NOAA leaders will present on NOAA’s global observations and climate services. The town hall will showcase NOAA’s collaborations in developing and delivering services to address the climate crisis.

Wed, Jan. 31, 1:45 – 3:00 pm EDT: The New Blue Economy and the Coastal Zone.

Nicole LeBoeuf from NOAA’s National Ocean Service will deliver keynote remarks on the contributions of the Ocean Enterprise to the ocean and coastal economy.

Thursday, Feb. 1, 8:30 – 10 a.m. EDT: Sharing the secrets to successful research to operations collaborations.

A panel moderated by NOAA Administrator Spinrad sharing stories on how collaborations can transition new research into operations.

Thursday, Feb. 1, 10:45 – 12:00 p.m. EDT: Unearthing Truth: Combating Disinformation in the Earth Sciences through Education and Communication.

Panelists will discuss the role of clear communication in tackling climate disinformation and building a Climate-Ready Nation.
