The controversy surrounds President Biden’s successful enactment of legislation capping insulin cost at $35 for all Medicare beneficiaries, a key feature of the Inflation Reduction Act.

In a recent Truth Social post, Trump falsely claimed complete credit for the lower insulin prices:

Low INSULIN PRICING was achieved for millions of Americans by me and the Trump Administration, not by Crooked Joe Biden. He had NOTHING to do with it. It was all done long before he sadly entered office. He just seeks to take credit for others’ achievements, in this case, MINE!

Contrary to Trump’s assertions, as Fox News anchor John Roberts clarified, Trump’s executive action only introduced a voluntary savings scheme impacting a limited number of Medicare recipients.

However, “President Biden made it his signature issue to convert the voluntary program into a mandatory one,” noted Roberts. The Inflation Reduction Act achieved just that.
