Local Shop Celebrates Successful First Year

In Asheville, NC, House of Black Cat Magic, a shop committed to helping cats find homes, marks its first operational year. The shop has significantly contributed to the pet adoption community by finding homes for hundreds of cats in Buncombe County.

House of Black Cat Magic: A Sanctuary for Adoption

House of Black Cat Magic not only serves as a pet shop but also as a community space. They regularly host parties and events at their Black Cat Lounge, where people can meet a variety of adoptable cats.

First Anniversary Celebration

To commemorate the one-year milestone, the lounge organized a “purrty,” a magical market, a silent auction, and a cat food drive over the weekend. The events benefited Binx’s Home for Black Cats food pantry.

Black cats of all sizes and personalities found forever homes during the event.

Trap, Neuter, Return

Sterling “TrapKing” Davis from TNR Humane Cat Solutions was present to educate attendees about the importance of TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) programs. TNR helps maintain community cat colonies by controlling their population in a humane way.

Davis emphasized, “Overpopulation causes cats to fight over resources, and they end up getting sick or injured. Controlling the population is crucial, and that’s what TNR does. Always spay and neuter your pets!”

Since opening, the lounge has helped over 150 black cats find loving homes.
