Adventist Health hospitals in California will resume accepting Blue Shield of California insurance following a temporary withdrawal from the network. The resolution was announced jointly by both parties on Friday.

Earlier this month, Adventist Health had ceased accepting Blue Shield of California patients, effective from December 1. The decision was taken following unsuccessful reimbursement rate discussions that spanned 11 months, according to hospital officials.

Details of the new agreement between the hospital chain and the insurance provider have not been disclosed. This decision will affect 17 hospitals in California, including Adventist Health Howard Memorial, Adventist Health Mendocino Coast, and Adventist Health Ukiah Valley in Mendocino County, plus Adventist Health Lodi Memorial in San Joaquin County.
